Toward a new sustainable sports model?
At a time when society is facing growing environmental challenges, a review of the reflections raised in the scientific literature requires us to take some critical steps. In this article, we begin by discussing the benefits of outdoor physical activities, as demonstrated in numerous studies. However, the development of these physical practices raises questions about their environmental impact and the predominant anthropocentric conception of the participants. Proposals for new forms of practice are then examined to make sport a space for education and reconnection with the environment. Finally, reflections on political education that go beyond the transmission of knowledge or individual eco-actions make it possible to consider the way in which environmental education can be carried out on different scales and in a systemic manner.
