For its 40th birthday, STAPS wished to give the floor to a key actor of the journal and, more broadly, of the STAPS academic field (sciences and techniques of physical and sporting activities). André Rauch, former president of the Association for the Development of Knowledge Relating to Physical and Sporting Activities (ancestor of AFRAPS), and former president of the 74th section of the CNU STAPS, agreed to be interviewed. The interview discusses the journal’s origins and the structuring of the STAPS field in the early 1980s. It also gives André Rauch the opportunity to discuss his research and express his perception of this academic space today.
