The Integrated Project “Football Interperiphery” held in 2022 an exchange between universities and collectives of urban peripheries of Brazil and Uruguay. Planning and organization were conducted in a cooperative, collaborative and in mobilizing way by different social agents of the institutions and communities. Narratives of such experience were researched for this article, which dedicates its analytical efforts to the relationship between sports, culture and education in the project. The results emerge from the analysis of the reports of the event’s attendants. Football offers itself as a meeting place between diversities, generating conflict points that make up the possibility of maintaining, latent and present, the political as a properly human dimension. Such meeting place can not to be reduced to the invisibility of the differences that the spectacle and the sports spectacle frequently offer to the popular classes as leisure and entertainment option. The project contains innumerable possibilities of thinking and constructing leisure forms and meeting for the peripheries, in an intercultural, collaborative and intergenerational environment, promoting critical reflection, inclusion and well-being of the participants.
